Things to do in Tokeland WA

An honest, source-linked guide to things to do in Tokeland — beach access, Tokeland casino hours, Tokeland Marina, birding, and the historic Tokeland Hotel — with Hill Top Hideaway in Raymond as your quiet inland base.

Tokeland sits on the north shore of Willapa Bay in Pacific County, on and near the Shoalwater Bay Indian Reservation. Guests staying at Hill Top Hideaway in Raymond often ask about a Raymond to Tokeland day trip: beaches and tidelands, a tribal casino, a working marina, and a historic hotel. This page sticks to facts we checked on official or clearly reliable public pages. Hours and seasons change — re-check the linked sources before you go.

Raymond to Tokeland on SR 105

The Raymond to Tokeland drive follows SR 105 west/north toward the bay. Approximate routing tools put the trip at about 22 miles and roughly 40 minutes under normal conditions; treat that as a planning estimate only (traffic, weather, and exact start/end points vary). WDFW’s Hawk’s Point / Tokeland shellfish directions also orient visitors: from Raymond, follow SR 105 toward Tokeland to Freshwater Creek near milepost 13.3. Tokeland beach access

For Tokeland beach access on the Willapa Bay side, start with WDFW’s Hawk’s Point / Tokeland Area page. Public second-class tidelands run along SR 105 near Freshwater Creek and continue west about two miles. Land access uses three gravel turnouts on the north side of Highway 105 between mileposts 13 and 15, or you can arrive by boat. There is no camping and no restrooms or garbage at the site. WDFW notes private tidelands and eroded uplands nearby — what looks public may be private, so stay attentive to boundaries.

Shellfish seasons on that WDFW page are listed open year-round for harvest timing, but you must also check current Washington Department of Health beach status the same day. WDFW also notes that burrowing shrimp have changed the harvest profile: oysters are not currently available and clam resources are limited. Nearest boat launches named on the page include Tokeland Marina and Smith Creek.

Along the ocean-facing Seashore Conservation Area, Washington State Parks describes the South Beach Area as spanning about 18 miles from Willapa Bay in Tokeland to Point Chehalis in Westport, covering land between high and low tide. Driving on some beaches is allowed (max 25 mph; pedestrians have right of way); ATVs/UTVs are not allowed; camping and overnight parking are not permitted on the beach. Source: WA State Parks — Seashore Conservation Area. A Discover Pass is a parking pass for many state recreation lots; Discover Pass guidance states you do not need one to drive or park on an ocean beach, but you do if you park in state parks lots near the beach.
